You want to interrupt a scientific truth of your golf swing?? well, here's one: Club ' of difficult swing produces more power.
Indicates the scientific truth of the golf swing again (feeling): difficulty in swing produces more power.
How to hit a baseball childhood learning power key, ass, ball in one day was found. Guess what? principle is the same of the golf swing.
When generating the arm and shoulder in the speed of the Club, in many golfers get the trouble. Movement of the head, and an easy way to get the balance of your swing. As a result, a fatal golfers.
On your arms along with riding the rotation of the hips in the PivotTable, ass, golf swing during real focus you need.
It is simple movement must emphasize that point.
Long I cut or garden for some of the ropes the ???. Want something more weight, but still takes Golf Club space in your hands.
Now, toward the back yard, and the practice golf swing rope or hose.
To move your ass, swing like shake focus. About the shoulder and the hand a little to forget. They can follow the movement of the lead-of the hips.
And try the thrust of the swing again this, focus on this time, shoulders, arms and hands with great force.
Or you can see what? what is the difference between the two?
Controlled, consistent swing in conversion of ass, swing, remember to focus on. This control is retained, and more power to generate big hip thrust, occurs in the golf swing.
So, forget about 'high speed' swing. Instead, hip Golf Swing Pivot you place all of the powers of concentration. Experiment. What will happen to see.
You need to experience the power, more control and a very short time.
Looking for more power in your golf swing?? remember the golf swing of scientific truth: in power, the arms, but not buttocks is.

As an instructor, I want you to understand that I pride myself more on being a coach than an instructor. There is a definite difference between a coach and an instructor, where as an instructor will simply fix your swing or short game with technical thoughts and drills, while on the range. An instructor will ask you what you want to work on and what needs improvement. A coach, on the other hand, is more involved with your game. He motivates you, he gives you not only instruction, but explains clear ways to use this information and gives you proper practice habits, games, and drills.
As a coach I fill both roles. There are times when a student wants swing work, but I take them to the short game area, because this is what I truly know they need. Also, when I give a one-hour lesson I try to structure my lessons around the periodization philosophy. I start my lesson with instruction and drills. My students will be competent in knowing the fault and compensation that we are working on with their swing. We will do lots of practice swings, mirror work, drills, and pauses in the swing. I must be confident that my students know what we are working on and why, and that they can do the drills with proper execution. Once I am convinced that my student is understanding and improving we will graduate to slow swings and perhaps a more feel drill versus a technical drill. This allows the students to apply the technical information into their swing and I can supervise them. I give them help if they struggle or need clarification or to answer questions. Finally, as a coach I take them to real life situations. We will hit different shots, or sometimes even take our lesson to the course where the results are important. It is this point as a coach I get my students to simplify what they are working on and to reduce the number of thoughts in their head.
Coaching a player is much more difficult than instructing a student. As an instructor your only responsibility is to give and correct information. As a coach you must teach your student to apply that information in the best way possible. A coach is much more involved with the student and thus is more involved with the outcome of the student’s progress and successes and failures they have. I do not have the luxury to dismiss student’s poor outcomes and tell them it will take time. I am therefore more involved with their games and am there to help them with everything from instruction to life’s problems.
The difference between an instructor and a coach is the application of the issues you are working on. An instructor will provide information and will help you, however a coach will help you apply those lessons and serves more as a mentor to you. This is my philosophy and my choice and is why I choose to write articles and answer each and every blog question to the best of my ability. This is why I want to thank each and every one of you that write in questions to the blog and to my insider club members where I can start to develop a personal relationship with each person’s game, struggles, and successes. Please let me know if there is anything I can personally do to help each of you.
Keep em Long and Straight,
CJ

My reaction ran about the same as Bubba Watson's, who wrote on Twitter:
"Watching nationwide tour, this is boring without announcers!! We need announcers to tell who is hitting and what the shots are like!!"
On the other hand, I've also been known to hit the mute button when certain announcers start talking.
I kept wondering what someone would think if they stumbled across the broadcast without knowing what the Golf Channel was doing. Probably: Are they having technical problems? Why can't I hear the announcers?
And I kept wondering why nobody thought of this back when Lanny Wadkins was broadcasting.
As a one-time gimmick, this probably will boost the broadcast ratings. As an ongoing effort, I think it would make more people turn off the telecast. But that's just me. What's your opinion?

But in the case of 2010 and far from the worst period in the Woods ' career, he probably is not as bad as you think. did you know that Woods is one of the best scoring averages 30 PGA Tour this year?
Note: I am talking about the adjusted average, not the actual scoring average. Woods real scoring average in 129th.Sugar coating that custom scoring average but – which takes into account how difficult it is played on the course and how a good field is-what scoring-Vardon Trophy and Byron Nelson Award-awards are based on.No suprise that Woods ' change the scoring average looks much better to give than he plays only the top tournaments toughest courses.
So, on average, adjusted scoring Woods classifies 26 2010. This is better than Rory McIlroy, Adam Scott, Stewart Cink, Hunter Mahan, Sean O'Hair, Camilo Villegas, McDonald Fowler, Zach Johnson and Ryan Moore, inter alia.
And even if his foibles in 2010, Woods ranks 62nd money. How to play even short timetable and amounts for payments of interest-Woods was his standards-abysmal golf pack in the middle of a large in relation to the PGA Tour.
Woods was thus not as bad as in 2010 could believe. But Woods will all comfort these two data points. it was awful year for its own standards. Some of these data points: Woods is the resolution for the carriage of 160th 153rd green in regulation in the territory of the sand save he finished outside the Top 10 last seven tournaments he played the longest Streak of such careers,
And, of course, he is going to be won. Woods 14 consecutive seasons with PGA win Streak. There is no record (Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer both won the direct 17 years), but one of the longest of these tracks.
And in the forest does have one more opportunity to PGA Tour win-he is committed to the WGC HSBC Champions Championship in November. HSBC is credited to the winner of this year for the first time official PGA Tour victory. ' Streak As Woods is not quite dead yet, but barely hanging.

The game of golf began its destiny in time towards becoming popular around the world. In 1744 the rules of Golf were put into writing for the first time ever. At this point in history, the first thirteen laws of golf were drawn up for an annual competition. The first documented record makes references to modern golf. It was during the mid to late 1800's that the game of golf really became world renowned.
It is said that there is no other sport as richly endowed with outstanding characters, incidents and locations as that of golf. Since most golf equipment was handcrafted it was, therefore, quite expensive and golf was dominated by the wealthy. By the 1850s, newly created private clubs had hired "greenkeepers" to care for their golf courses. While the golf course superintendent profession has changed over time, it is still largely a combination of science and art.
A man by the name of Allan Robertson is known as the first great player of the history of golf. He kept a scrapbook of newspaper clippings of golf events. The concept of giving strokes allowed Robertson to set up matches with golfers who weren't at his level.
Somewhere in time the game of golf lost its prestige in the United States. Once metal club heads and shafts and balls began rolling off production lines, the average person was able to afford golf. In fact, most regions of the US feature public courses which strive to be affordable for the average golfer.
Over the next few centuries many refinements were made to the game of golf, improving driver weight, ball trajectory and overall game play. Also in the 1930s the wooden golf tee was invented.
The groundwork was laid in the 1970's for radical transformation of turf preparation, golf club technology, and instructional technique. Additionally the beginning of the 20th century brought several technological innovations to the game of golf. These days technology has done wonders for golf since you can now purchase golf clubs and golf balls that are designed with precision. For example the graphite shafts are around 34% lighter than steel shafts allowing the golfer to develop more club-head speed with less effort, making shots go further.
Many golfers are self-taught, and learn by observing others. Many who have a desire to play better golf may consider golf lessons. Others feel learning golfing techniques from a professional is the best way to master the sport. And you don't have to look far to locate innovative training aids, they can even be found on the Internet at places like http://www.golf-clubhouse.net
The 1990s has witnessed the proliferation of a whole slew of golf training aids. Finally, modern golf range equipment began to appear, eliminating the need for a ball-shagging caddie, and sparked a boom in driving-range construction.

Like all other sports, golf needs that you are geared up with the best equipments to properly play the game. This paper gives you an idea of the standard golf tools one requires to be able to learn and play golf properly.
For novice, the main golf tool is a golf ball. Golf balls are dimpled tiny balls, use in to play golf. They are dimpled to go far when driven by golf clubs.
Also another important golf tool is a golf club or golf driver. Golf drivers come in too many varieties. This is because a golf course has too many kinds of landscapes and different golf clubs are required to make the best drive. Depending on the landscape, if sand, grass or cement, a golf club is important to make the perfect drive. Expert golfers usually have a case or two of golf clubs to cater to their golf requirements. Most golf stores and sports tool store sell golf clubs. Some golf clubs are sold in sets while other are sold alone.
To take care of your golf equipment, such as your golf club, a golf bag golf club cover is important. A golf bag will, for sure, hold your golf club in one place and will make it more easy for your caddy to bring your many golf clubs. Golf bags can also hold golf balls and also other golf equipment such as water bottle to quench your thirst while under the beautiful sun or extra shirt or your regular shoes. On the other hand, a golf club cover covers the edge of your golf club. This is done so to protect your golf club from unwanted scratches and dents. Dents can cause your drive to go from good to bad. Dents in golf clubs can affect the drive of your golf ball. With these golf tools, you can take care of the state of your club and your rich sport.
One golf tool that you also need to invest on is a nice pair of golf shoes. Golf shoes are different from standard rubber shoes or jogging shoes. Golf shoes are made to walk on greens - the type where the sport is played. Golf shoes usually have pointed rubber under the soles to grip the earth and sand under your feet. This way, unnecessary shaking or moving is prevented. This is useful because shaking can cause you to not hit the golf ball or to hit the golf ball in the wrong way. If you plan to play good golf a nice pair of golf shoes is a important golf tool to add up to your list. Choose one that is sturdy yet comfortable enough for you to walk into. Golf is a sport that requires walking from one hole to the other or to where your ball goes (you can not use golf carts on the greens) and thus, if your golf shoes are no good, you would have a hard time playing your game.
A golf tool usually provided by most golf courses (aside from the golf ball) is the tee. The tee is the tiny pin like thing that you punch to the ground to stand your ball into. The tee is use in teeing off (the start of your first drive) thus the name.
The most great golf tool ever created (for me, that is) is the golf cart. Golf carts can take you from one hole to the other, though as I said earlier they are not allowed on the greens, they still lessen the burden of having to walk under the hot sun. This golf equipment can be acquired from golf courses. Golf players are normally made to use golf tool such as this to give them a good and easier time playing the game.
Many specialty shops and sport shops offer golf tools. The internet is also a great source of golf equipment. Used golf tools are even auctioned off the internet, if you are on a tight budget. Check out your golf shop, sports shop, specialty shops, E-bay or Yahoo! for your golf equipment requirements.

Most beginning golfers don't realize how much skill and technique goes into a proper golf swing. It looks so easy when you see experienced golfers or pros swing - it even sounds quite simple when the theory of the technique is explained to you. But watching it and hearing about it, and actually doing it yourself are indeed two different things!
An effective golf swing takes quite a bit of practice to perfect. People spend years working on their swing. Keep in mind that the object is to get the ball into the hole at or under par for that hole....but the swing is what determines whether that actually happens or not. Essentially, a proper golf swing determines the entire outcome of the game!
An effective golf swing is accomplished by forming a triangle with your shoulders and arms, and keeping that triangle locked in place throughout the entire swinging process. This is often easier said than done, and you will find that you lose control of the ball by slicing a great deal before you get the concept down. When you draw the club back, you do not move your arms, even though your arms are essentially moving. What you are really moving is your shoulder and your hips - without ever actually moving your arms.
There are many training aids available to help you develop a good golf swing. You should take advantage of the available technology to improve your game. There are aids that will help you keep your arms locked, as well as aids that help you keep your wrists locked. There are aids to help you correct your stance, as well as your backswing, upswing, and even the force with which you hit the ball. If you have an issue that needs to be corrected in your golf game or swing, there is a golfing aid available to help you!
Making a video tape, showing your swing from all angles will also help you improve your game. Have a friend video tape your swing. Get lots of footage on the tape, and then watch it - in slow motion. Really pay attention to every aspect of your swing, watching from your head down to your feet. Making yourself aware of the mistakes is the first step to solving them. If you know what problems exist, you will pay special attention to those areas the next time you play. With enough practice and determination, you can correct those problems.
Don't be afraid to look funny. Looking good on the golf course is not your top priority - playing a great game of golf is what you are after. Some people have a stance that looks a little funny to others...but those same people have perfected that stance to the point where they have greatly improved their swing because of it. Some people grip the club in a funny manner. Some people play 'natural golf' using 'natural golf swings.' This form of golf does look funny to traditional golfers - but it is quite effective. Don't be afraid of being different if it helps you play better!
Studying the swings of great golfers can be a training tool within itself. However, it is important to remember that you are an individual. While you can try many of their techniques, their exact technique probably won't work as well for you as it does for them. Take their techniques, and work with them to make them your very own - as long as they improve your game.
You can practice your swing at home or at the office (if this is allowed). You don't need a ball; you just need a little room. Swing the club, just as you would if you were going to hit the ball. Instead of concentrating on needing to hit the ball, however, concentrate on the actual swing.
You should also consider using training clubs as well. These will build your strength a great deal, allowing you to hit the ball harder and farther than ever before! Remember that developing a proper golf swing takes time, practice and patience. If you are having problems, do not get frustrated, or give up. Keep working at it, and look for the solution you need to correct the swing problems you have. One of these days, you will be playing like a pro!

Looking for tips on planning a charity golf tournament? There are many factors to consider, so I'll stick to the four main ones for this article. The success of your charity golf event revolves around maximizing player turnout, increasing pledge sizes, obtaining sponsored prizes, and planning tips.
Player Turnout
Your success depends on how many players your golf event draws and how actively you have your players solicit sponsors for their own rounds.
To maximize turnout, you need to get major publicity for your event. That means putting out multiple press releases, getting local media coverage from newspapers and television stations, and placing ads in the sports section of the local paper.
For the best results, put your press releases out through PR Web. Appoint a spokesperson to handle all media contacts and follow-up. For more tips, read my article on fundraising publicity.
Charity Pledges
The key is getting each player to collect a certain amount of pledges. I recommend a minimum of $100 per player in pledges. I've also played in tournaments where that number was $250 per player.
Obviously, you want to motivate the participants to raise as much money as possible. Some groups offer incentives for the top pledge getters. Others seek corporate sponsorships for that firm's players.
Pledge amounts determine the success of your charity golf event, so get input from experienced golfers and golf pros in your area.
Top Golfer Prizes
Generally speaking, you'll draw more golfers if you have great prizes for longest drive, closest to the hole, hole in one, lowest team score, lowest actual score, and best adjusted score (handicap).
You solicit local merchants to sponsor those prizes. Work with an insurance-related prize company for things like the hole-in-one contest. That way you can offer a bigger prize for a much lower outlay.
Aim to get 100 golfers (25 foursomes) and your small group could easily raise $10,000 or more. Larger turnouts will net even more with some charity golf tournaments drawing 500 golfers competing for big prizes.
Plan Ahead
Obviously, bigger pledges, more golfers, corporate sponsorships combined with massive publicity will work wonders for the bottom line of your charity golf tournament. With the right combination of these factors and good advance planning, you can certainly raise $75,000 or more for a charitable cause.
Contact local courses for group rates. Be sure to mention that you are planning a charity event and ask for discounts on cart and greens fees. Once you decide on your preferred location, reserve the date and tee times well in advance.
Charity Golf Event - Final Tips
Plan ahead to maximize the success of your charity golf event. For best results, pick a weekday when courses and large blocks of tee times will be easier to reserve. You'll often get the best rates by going to the course in person and talking to the pro or pro shop manager.
Corporate sponsors are another good way to go. Get some celebrities to golf with corporate bigwigs and you can easily raise $100k-$150k. Of course, convincing celebrities to donate their time takes some doing, but it's well worth it.
If it's your first golf tournament, be open to suggestions from other golfers. Consider working with a fundraising consultant who specializes in organizing charity golf tournaments. They work for a percentage of the gross, but you usually end up raising more funds due to their experience and sponsor contacts.

It happens to all of us. We loose our golf swing, make some type of unknown modification in how we swing the club, and everything falls apart. What can we do to prevent our golf swing from leaving us?
Remember this saying as you continue to read this article; "Proper Preparation Precedes Success and Confidence". Think about this phrase for a moment and then keep reading.
I write about this subject because of an e-mail I received from a fellow golfer. The e-mail read:
"Sean, while out practicing I appear to have injured a muscle(s) in my back just below my left shoulder, and also around the outside of my left side rib cage. I have tried to continue to play golf through this injury, hoping it would get better but I had to stop. Hitting down and through the ball proved to very difficult and I seemed to be pulling out of shots early and topping the ball on my iron shots a lot. Do you have any golf fitness exercises in your book which will heal the injury and prevent a re-occurrence?"
Absolutely! I do have golf fitness exercises to help you with the prevention of such an injury occurring. But let's get back onto the topic of this article and that is the loss of our golf swing. "Loosing" your golf swing can occur for a number of reasons.
Typically, they fall into one of 3 categories:
1) Mechanical
2) Physical
3) Mental
A loss of your golf swing on the mechanical side of the equation is pretty simple to understand. Essentially, you have made an adjustment in the mechanics of your golf swing causing compensations to occur. These compensations result in poor shots and possibly a great deal of frustration, if you do not know what is happening.
Often times the amateur is completely unaware of the changes they have made wreaking havoc on their golf swing. How do you go about solving such a situation?
Through proper instruction from a qualified teacher is the first part of this equation. A qualified teaching pro will be able to diagnose the problem and provide you guidance on how to fix it. The ball is then in your court, meaning you must use this information and go practice (remember, proper preparation precedes success or confidence).
The second reason for the "loss" of your golf swing is a publicized matter, and it is your body.
Remember it is your body that swings the golf club. If your body is unable to swing the golf club properly, the ability to swing it without compensations will occur.
The e-mail above is an example of such a problem. The amateur golfer has incurred an injury as a result of the body not being flexible, strong, or powerful enough to swing the golf club properly over a period of time.
Keep in mind the golf swing requires certain levels of flexibility, balance, strength, endurance, and power to swing the golf club correctly. If any one of these facets within your body is not up to par (no pun intended, but it fits real well doesn't it?), the swing will suffer.
Often times body impairments causing you to "loose" your swing are not as severe as an injury (they will get that way if ignored), but rather they are a slight discomfort, muscle pull, or fatigue. Which cause compensations to occur in your golf swing.
Again, we can go back to the phrase "proper preparation precedes success and confidence". You must properly prepare your body for the golf swing. This is where golf fitness exercises are beneficial. Golf fitness exercises develop the levels of flexibility, balance, endurance, strength, and power within the body to swing the golf club properly.
Golf fitness exercises prepare the body to swing the golf club just as practice ingrains the mechanics of the golf swing. We finally come to the third category, the mental aspect of golf and fitness. Mental blocks, certain thought processes, or a lack of confidence can directly affect your golf swing.
I have found through my work over the years with professional athletes the development of a sound mental approach to golf begins with the body and progresses from this point to swing mechanics.
If you develop a strong foundation in your body, it provides you confidence that you can perform the mechanics of the golf swing correctly. Once the physical foundation is developed, you can create the optimal swing mechanics on top of this foundation.
Once these two "building blocks" are in place. The mental approach towards the game is confident, relaxed, and focused. Again, let's go back to the phrase; "proper preparation precedes success and confidence." Confidence in your golf game can only occur if the physical foundation and fundamentals of the golf swing are in place.
To summarize, "loosing" your golf swing can be attributable to essentially 3 different categories. These categories are your golf swing mechanics, your body, and your mental approach to the game. To minimize the possibility of "loosing" your golf swing, develop a flexible, strong, and powerful body to support your golf swing mechanics. On top of this body, develop an efficient golf swing. This will allow your mental approach to be focused, relaxed, and confident.
If you are confident in your body's' ability to swing the golf club, the mechanics of your swing to execute the shot, the ability to mentally focus will be much easier. This is what separates good golf shots from bad golf shots on the golf course.

Fix Your Golf Slice With Basic Corrections
A golf slice can often be cured by some simple, basic corrections in set-up.
For instance, while a golfer can occasionally compensate for a poor swing, you cant play well with a poor grip. It is important, if you want to fix your slice permanently, that you take the time to check your grip using this simple drill:
Take a blade of grass and trap it between the fleshy pad on the underside of your right thumb and the top of your left thumb. Now, complete your grip and swing the club to the top of the backswing. If the blade of grass has remained in position then your grip is secure and firm, but if the grass has fallen out, this is a sign that your hands are separating, which causes the club to move about at the top of the backswing.
Having the clubface in the correct position at the top of your backswing is fundamental to correcting a golf slice. Unfortunately, thats not an easy position to check when the club is out of sight and behind you. The way to check the clubface position is to look up and check the direction in which the knuckles on your left hand are pointing.
If they are well to the right, the clubface will be closed to the target line, which in the downswing normally produces a right-to-left hook flight. If your knuckles point to right, the clubface will be open and the result will be a sliced golf shot. If the knuckles point straight up to the sky the clubface is square to the target line.
In fact, grip faults can often be the main reason for slicing in golf, and the problem with grip faults is that they can get into your game without you really being aware of them. To prevent this slow decline in technique perform the following check:
Grip the club and make sure that you can see around two and a half knuckles on your left hand. Then take a pen and draw a small dot on your golf glove on the last knuckle showing. To ensure your grip is correct on every shot, all you have to do is to look down at your glove after taking up your grip. If you cant see the dot then your grip has probably become too weak. Likewise if you can see a knuckle beyond the mark, then your grip is probably becoming too strong.
Many players have a golf slice by allowing their left side to slide too far to the left in the downswing, making it difficult to square up the clubface correctly at impact. This can be a difficult habit to correct but there is a mental drill that could help you keep those hips from sliding.
When you address the golf ball, imagine you are next to an open door with your left side positioned against the wall. When you swing the club back down to the ball, imagine the wall stopping your legs from sliding to the left, while your arms and hands remain free to swing the clubhead on through the open door. This will prevent your legs from sliding to the left. It will also encourage you to adopt the correct active hand action in your downswing.

If you're planning a Scotland Golf Vacation, then make sure to at least book some of these legendary courses into your itenarary. Scotland is the birthplace of golf, and no trip there would be complete without visiting some of the famed links we've only heard about or seen on TV. Take the oppportunity to play some or all of these gems, and come home from your Scotland golf vacation with a clubhouse full of memories.
The Old Course at St. Andrews - A Scotland golf vacation must include a visit to the Old Course at St. Andrews. The site of 27 Open Championships, St. Andrews has been the scene for much of golf's history. Best estimates say that golf was being contested here 100 years before Columbus discovered America. Another interesting tidbit is that the course was originally 22 holes, until 1764 when the Society of St. Andrews Golfers, the predecessor to the Royal and Ancient Golf Club, decided to combine some holes and shorten the course to 18 holes, the standard number we play today. Much of St. Andrews is well-know: the 112 bunkers, including the imfamous pot bunkers; The Swilken Burn Bridge; the Road Hole, no. 17, one of the toughest holes in golf and the seven double greens, which sometimes require errant shots to the green to play a prodigious putt on greens that measure more than an acre in total size. Don't leave St. Andrews off your Scotland golf vacation: you'll regret it!
Carnoustie - The second oldest course in Scotland, dating from the 1500's, Carnoustie has developed a reputation for toughness second to none in Scottish golf. The list of Open winners on championshisp contested here reads like a who's who of golf: Tommy Armour, Ben Hogan, Henry Cotton, Gary Player, Tom Watson and the latest, Pual Lawrie in 1999. A long links course at 7368 yards from the tips, Carnoustie demands length and accuracy off every tee. And if that wasn't enough, the wind and rain play a significant role in any round. One of the more famous holes is the par 5 sixth hole, which is known as Hogan's Alley for his birdie/birdie finish on the 36-hole final day of the '53 Open. A Scotland golf vacation must include Carnoustie!
Gleneagles - A most friendly golf complex of four courses, Glenagles has long been a favorite among those who truly love hte game of golf. Home of the PGA Centenary golf course, designed by Jack Nicklaus, and home to the Ryder Cup Championships in 2014, PGA Centenary was called by Nicklaus the "finest parcel of land in the world I have ever been given to work with." A longish course at 7081 yards, it nevertheless demands pinpoint accuracy and is a prime example of target golf, thus avoiding the numerous ponds and streams as well as both pot bunkers and American style sand traps. A longtime favorite of Bob Hope, Glenagles is a treasured stop on your Scotland golf vacation.
Muirfield - The very name of Muirfield included in your Scotland golf vacation should raise the heart rate a few notches. Past Open winners here include the likes of Vardon, Player, Nicklaus, Trevino, Watson and Faldo. A stern test of golf in every resepct, Muirfield also boasts the oldest golf club, the Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers, with rolls dating back to 1744. Often bestowed the with honor of being the finest course in not only Scotland but the entire British Ilses, Muirfield brings a combination of history and incredible golf that would make any Scotland golf vacation one for the ages.
Royal Troon Golf Club - A true test of golf, Royal Troon has seen it's share of legends hoist the Claret Jug: Bobby Locke, Arnold Palmer, Tom Watson, Mark Calcavechia and Justin Leonard have won here. Wind is the story here at Troon. And while the front side presents numerous scoring opportunities, the wind can wreak havoc with those plans. The back side is just plain hard. So make hay on the front side if you can. One of the most famous holes in golf is located here, the eighth hole, measuring a wee 126 yards, is known the world over as "the Postage Stamp". Include Royal Troon on any Scotland golf vacation.
Turnberry - Possibly the most scenic of Scotland golf vacation stops, Turnberry has been called the Pebble Beach of the British Isles. And when you factor in the weather, that rings true. A bewitching combination of great golf and magnificent views, such as the castle of Robert the Bruce, Scotland's King from 1306 to 1329, lying off the 9th and 10th holes, make playing this tough course an even more challenging task. The site of several stirring Opens, the most memorable being the famous Nicklaus/Watson battle in 1977. Be sure to include Turnberry as one of your stops on your Scotland golf vacation.
While there is much more great golf to be found on lesser known tracks, these legends are what has given Scotland most of it's lore and charm. Try to visit as many of these as you can on your next Scotland golf vacation!

While many countries have a valid claim to an early game that resembles the game of golf, the origins of golf are without a doubt routed in Scotland's past. The fact is, golf probably derived from other countries and stick and ball type games. However, while these are stick and ball games, they are missing that vital ingredient that is unique to golf. The hole. It was the Scots who introduced the golf hole into the game we now call golf.
Over the centuries, golf has evolved into the game it is today. The first recognizable form being played in Scotland in the early 1400's. Andrews, Scotland is the birthplace of the game golf. Originating on the east coast of Scotland, golf quickly became the Scots' national pastime and passion, bound forever to Scotland's history and people.
According to Scottish lore, the people of Scotland believes that Golf was invented by Scottish fishermen to amuse themselves on the way home from fishing.
In 1457 golf was banned in Scotland because it interfered with the practice of archery, which was vital to the defense effort. The ban on golf had been issued in a time when Scotland was preparing to defend itself from the English. Scotland can say that they are the founding fathers in regards to the oldest golf course. It was in
Scotland that the passion for golf came alive. There is general agreement among historians and golf fans alike that the Scots were the first golfers who became somewhat addicted and passionate about the sport. In the very early days of golf, each golf group in Scotland produced their own and unique rules, which was sometimes the cause for interesting discussions. Golf is still a very popular game today in Scotland today.
The game of golf soon spread to areas outside of Scotland. In one form or another, the variant games of present day golf were clearly enjoyed throughout Europe in the Middle Ages. In fact in seventeenth century Dutch landscapes commonly show golf being played on ice. The game of golf began its destiny in time towards becoming popular around the world.

Everything about our lives is busy. We not only do our work at work now a days, but carry work with us. Cell phones, video conferencing and wireless Internet allow work to be done anywhere and anytime. Technologies advancements have helped business reach across the globe and do more work with greater speed than ever before. Yet, some businesses are seeing a decrease in workers productivity. A person can find themselves asking, "how can this be?"
Well, technology allows people to complete tasks with less physical exertion. Escalators, elevators, and cars make it easy to get where you are going without moving very much. We even have buttons to open car doors for us and save the time and effort to do it ourselves. Along with the weight control benefits of exercise lost due to all this technology, we also lose the benefits for reducing stress that come from exercise. And with stress is on the rise for many Americans these benefits are greatly needed. Stress reduces work productivity and causes businesses millions of dollars in lost work due to this reduced productivity and absenteeism associated with stress.
Lucky for the golf lover, golfing is not only recreational, but also a great healthy activity. A key to success in using golfing to reduce stress is to get all the exercise out of it that you can. If a person walks the golf course they walk 4-5 miles. Even though it is stop and go walking, it is still beneficial. An average American needs to take 10,000 steps a day to maintain weight, that is about 5 miles. Golf is the perfect solution for the goal to move more. Unfortunately, there is starting to be a trend to use a cart while golfing instead of walking. It has been said, "walking is the way that golf is meant to be played." Supporting this statement is that fact that participants in the PGA tournaments are required to walk the course. Part of playing the game is having the endurance not only to play, but also to travel in between holes. Playing traditional golf, including walking the course, also shows respect for the game.
Other benefits of walking, other than reducing stress, are time to unwind and slow down. Because most people are busy all the time, and always in a hurry to get to the next task. Walking the golf course allows a person to relax and take the time to fully enjoy what they are doing. When you have a cart, you quickly get in it to move quickly to the next hole. The person who does this robs them self of the time to look at the course and enjoy being outside. Slowing down gives you the time to think, contemplate and figure out life's problems. Stress is reduced not only for the body, through exercise, but also the mind through pondering. If you aren't able to walk the entire time due to lack of conditioning or poor health consider these suggestions:
1) walk 9 holes, use a cart for 9 holes
2) if golfing with a partner each walk half the time and use the cart half the time
3) take someone with you as a driver, to transport only between holes
4) start by walking everything you can other than the actual travel to each hole
5) Take the stairs more often, park further away from the fronts of businesses, and take a 10 minute walk on your lunch break to work up to more physical endurance.
6) Take time to slow down, enjoy the course and get all the benefits that golf has to offer.

Golf is a great way to enjoy time with your family and friends. Whether you play a leisure round of nine holes or are able to enjoy a full round of eighteen holes, the game of golf is rewarding on many levels. The best news is every beginning golfer can shoot a resonable score.
A beginner only needs a handful of items to get started. A few lofted golf clubs, say a nine and seven iron, and a putter. If you want, grab a metal wood, but no more than a five wood. Gather some golf balls, tees, a towel, and throw your stuff in a golf bag. You are ready to play some golf!
You are probably wondering about all the other clubs and why they were left out. They are for the golfer who is ready to mix playing golf with practicing golf. If it makes you feel less awkward, take the full set of clubs with you, just use the ones mentioned until you are comfortable with your golfing abilities. Let me explain myself.
Golf is a sport. Like all other sports a score determines the winner. In golf the lowest score or fewest strokes win. Most people who play sports enjoy competition. Why not learn how to play golf to win from the very beginning. After all an early success will bring you back to the golf course sooner. And I don't know of a better place to be than on a golf course.
If you are playing with others of your same ability you need to learn how to score the lowest. This is why you are only using a few clubs for now. If you can keep the ball moving forward towards the target (the flag) instead of sideways (the direction most beginners hit towards) you will always score lower than you opponent. The clubs that are easiest to hit are the ones with the most loft, your seven and nine iron. These will never travel as far as your opponent's big dog, (their driver or 1 metal) but they have a greater chance of moving the ball in the direction of your target. So it may take you six or seven shots down the fairway to reach the green, chances are your score will be less than your playing opponent when totaled.
Making solid contact with the golf ball will always win the game. Using the higher lofted clubs will have you hitting the ball with precise contact faster than any other club in the bag, except your putter. When you can stand at address over a golf ball with a seven or nine iron and hit a good shot seven out of nine times you can expand your club selection to any other club. I use this technique when teaching beginners to play and they are my proof that it works. The confidence you gain from hitting good shots by making solid contact will show up with every other club once you master the higher lofted irons.

Your perfect golf vacation with your friends starts and stops with you. Toss the vacation package brochures in a heap and design your own ideal golf getaway. This is the final of four articles to assist you in providing an outing for yourself and your friends that will make you want to do it every year (as we have for 19 years running).
From the last article, you are now at the minus one month point. So far you have rallied the troops, picked the dates, selected the lodging and golf courses and are in the final preparation stage. You will soon see your friends smiling faces at the airport baggage claim. The final preps and smoothly running the whole show are child's play. The tough part was getting your bunch of friends to buy the tickets to enjoy the event. Here are a few things you will want to do before the scream of the aircraft's tires on the tarmac.
1. Transportation. The limiting factor is arrival and departure from the airport due to clubs AND suitcases. If you can just barely stuff everyone in the vehicles at this point, the rest of the week is gravy. From your experience, you know that when you pack up four guys to go golfing locally, you will entirely fill the trunk of a full sized car. With that in mind, you should plan on a full sized car for every three people. We use one minivan/SUV augmented with cars for our adventures. Just make sure you allow for the limiting case.
You need to arrange these rental vehicles ahead of time, but you can only drive one yourself. Here is the minus one-month mandatory. When you figure out your vehicle requirements, contact the group to arrange among them and you who will contact and rent the remaining vehicles. There will probably be some in your group that have existing discounts and can score a great rate. Hash this one out via email.
2. Entertainment. Unless you are going to the deserts in Arizona or get exceedingly lucky, you will have a rain day or two. You will also have a bunch of time at night after golf (after you have all told your lies). We suck that time up pretty effectively watching the golf channel, ESPN, playing cards, or watching videos. The latter is what you can address ahead of time. We have a guy that is pretty good at selecting movies to watch and we task him to bring them with him. Movies like "Gladiator", "Miracle", etc. are big. Some of your group may even have an adult video you may want to avail yourselves of. On severe rain days, we also have gone bowling (a real hoot), done the local movie theater, and toured the area.
3. Checklists. After about ten years of being asked twenty times per day where we were playing the next day, or when we had to leave, or what was for supper, or who stole my teddy bear, I finally started typing out these things. I make a copy of each and post sporadically throughout the house. I make individual laminated cards and hand to each golfer. Know what? It reduced the questions to half and now when asked, I say that I can't remember, let me walk over to the frig and read it for you. Here are the things I prepare ahead of time.
- Listing of course, tee times, course contact number, and departure time. I base departure time on MapBlast directions and factor in a stop for ice for the coolers and if we will need to hit range balls.
- Listing of the menu for the evening meals. If this is your first time, keep the menu simple and make sure you have the recipes in hand. With any size group, you are going to have a chef or two and this won't be a big deal.
- Multiple copies of the "order sheet" for sandwiches. For most of our noon meals between rounds, we dine on our self-prepared, gourmet sandwiches prepared the night before. As you saw from the previous articles, I solicit what the group wants and have that on the shopping list. What winds up being the least confusing way is to have some sheet for people to circle or fill in to specify what sandwiches they want for the next day. You rotate the preparers (two is best) every night and with that sheet, they manufacture the gourmet feast. (Don't discount this! The sandwiches you make will be superior to anything short of the full meal at the course AND you will not have to wait on it if you are pressed for time between your rounds.)
- Biggy! We did not keep a record of our scores for our first few years. Big mistake. What great history we tossed out. Keep a record! I prepare a hard copy sheet to fill in as we go. It allows us to follow who is the overall stroke leader and gives us all ammo to use in negotiating the next day's bets. I take this home and plant it permanently on our golf website.
- Expenses. I pay for everything with minor exceptions. That keeps it simple. I currently use a spreadsheet to administer this. It works great. I would provide this for you, but this article format doesn't allow. Before that, I simply used pen and paper and got it to within a penny. My point is that from the minute you start your adventure, keep a tally of what you have spent! Streamline course check in by paying for everyone, buy all the food and drink, buy all the gas, etc. If someone pays for anything, log it in immediately. If you are religious in this, you will have no complaints, only praise.
4. Things nobody else will bring but you.
- Several decks of cards, poker chips - Cribbage boards - Screw driver and pliers (you never know) - Pens, pencils and permanent markers (you will need all) - Over the counter pain killers - Band-Aids - Game
5. Arrival. So here you have a rambunctious group of friends descending on the Mecca of golf. You have motored to the house your staying in and it is the mad dash to the best room to be found. NOT. To avoid any hard feelings between the lodger that got the queen bed and the lodger that got the twin bed, simply set up a quick draw out of the hat. For subsequent years, do the same, but use the seniority system. Once a person misses, he goes to the end of the list.
6. Once you have dumped your bags in the drawn rooms, it is time to go shopping. With the template I gave you in the last article, and with your modifications based on menu and orders, grab one or two volunteers and get what you need.
This is the conclusion of my recommendations on how you can have the best golf outing or outings you have ever had. Since I have folks coming to enjoy my preparations for 19 years should be testimony to you. At least give it a shot once. It won't be perfect, but my guess is that it will be superior and more remembered than anything you can buy as a package. Go for it!

Golf gadgets:
Who wants them? Who needs them? These little devices come in as many shapes, sizes, and forms as there are stars in the universe. Unlike short-game training devices or swing aids they do not work directly on teaching you the proper techniques of the golf swing. However they are indeed incredibly creative in unexpected and very imaginative ways. They are made to make the crazy game of golf more fun, a lot less strenuous and simply easier to play.
It is for this reason that the avid golfer in the family can no longer go through any Christmas without receiving one accessory either in their stocking or under the tree. These golf gadgets have become somewhat of a phenomenon and even a tradition in some house holds be it good or bad.
For the golfer who is receiving these gifts it becomes a sheer reminder of how much they need to work on their games. To some it can even become and embarrassment to think that these little golf accessories can help improve their games. For others they give them a great little giggle when they see what some crazy fool has come with to help their golf swing.
Do we as golfers really need them? Some would say yes that these little golf gadgets are essential to improving their performance on the course. These golf addicts will go to every extreme and buy every little gadget out there because they feel that it will help. On the other hand, most of us know that there is no cure other than straight hard practice that nobody really wants to do let alone has time for.
Unfortunately most of the golf gadgets on the market are not perfect and have some sort of a defect or an annoying flaw. That is why most of them don't make it into widespread circulation and use. Having said that, there are a small number of good little gadgets out there that actually work!
These items include the suction cup on the grip of your putter that makes it easier to pickup your ball form the hole without bending over. Another good one that is almost essential to every player is the divot repair tool that can come in many shapes and styles. You also have the Brush-T that is said to make contact with the ball less inhibiting by making the tee flexible. One other must have for the average golfer is the groove cleaner to help remove the dirt from your clubs so you can hit a crisper shot. The most important thing to remember about these items is that they are mainly for fun. They're great to have and enjoy every time you play golf. There are so many golf gadgets out there in the market you just have to pick the ones you think are cool and simply try them!

Many golfers practice a great deal, and still never achieve the swing that they want to possess. If this sounds like you, you may benefit from golf swing aids. There are many golf swing aids on the market today that will help you greatly improve your swing - in less time in most cases. Choosing the gold swing aids that are right for you, however, often presents a challenge.
One of the most popular golf swing aids in existence today is the launch monitor. These are showing up in more and more pro shops across the country and in other countries as well. These takes data from your golf swing to determine what club or clubs are best for you at certain distances, and even tell you how much spin you are putting on the ball. Personal renditions of these launch monitors are also available, and experts agree that the personal monitors are just as powerful as the more expensive ones used in the pro shops - but golfers need to learn how to operate them properly for best results.
Another useful golf swing aid is the golf swing speed monitor. This little box sits on the ground directly across from you, with the ball in the middle. It should sit about six to eight inches away from the ball. It measures the speed of your swing. Increasing swing speed is vital if you want to improve your long game, and this little gadget can help you do just that, by telling you whether your swing speed exercises are doing any good. Training clubs, which are much heavier than your regular clubs, are also good for swing speed increases. They also help build strength and range of motion.
Golf training clubs and elbow braces are also great aids. These help to train you not to break your wrists when swinging, and to keep your form with your elbows during the swing as well. There are also lots of different training clubs available to help with specific problems, such as slices, and plane devices designed to help you improve your swing plane. There are even mats that are designed to help you line up your shot for an improved game! If you can imagine it, it exists!
There are swing aids available for any swing problem that you can imagine. But do they all work? Well, some work for some people, others work for other people, and some don't work for any people at all. Before rushing out to buy brand new training equipment, slow down and do your research. Talk to other golfers to find out what training equipment they have used, and what results they had with that equipment. Look for used equipment, and if it is reasonable, buy it and give it a try. You should also consider going in with some friends to purchase some training equipment that can be shared by a group.
Training aids are easy to find - both online and offline - but again, not all training equipment is right for you. Talk to a golf pro to find out what equipment you should consider, based on your skill level, and the specific problems you are having. Be careful - if the golf pro you are talking to owns the shop you are standing in - he is a salesman first, and a golf pro trying to help you improve your game second! Talk to other golfers before making a high ticket purchase!
The best information on the training equipment that is available will be found in online forums where golfers hang out - and on the course where golfers also hang out. You can look for customer reviews, but they may not be accurate - or even real. Talk to the real golfers who have really used the products to find out which golf swing aids are most likely to help you. Most golfers are very happy to help each other out with tips and advice - you just have to be willing to take it!
Some golfers are a bit more stubborn and a bit more traditional - they don't want to allow technology to enter into the game of golf. Most of the golf swing aids you will find do represent technology - but if this doesn't bother you, you should definitely take advantage of what's out there!

Golf can be a terrific game but the most frustrating to see improvements. Some of the frustration comes from too many people giving too many 'swing adjustments'.
Follow these few tips and you should start to see your golf shot greatly improve.
So, your golf swing needs improvement and you know it? Here are some tips in making better golf swings. Tip no. 1. A great golf swing does not mean you have to swing with arms.
Behind your back, put your golf club while you turn your back to your target. It is like taking your club back as you hinge your arm at your shoulder. You could also practice the drill known as no arm. Tip no. 2. You should not forget cocking wrists. Do not forget cocking your wrists. This might be difficult at first, but it will be natural to you with enough practice. Uncocking your wrists in your follow through. Tip no. 3. You should let the left arm rotate clockwise slightly when you start the back swing. It is not really something that you actually should remember. It naturally happens if you would just allow it. This just means that you should not resist this movement that is just natural. You might not notice it, but you might have been resisting this movement because this causes the head of your golf club to go open slightly when you swing it. Just allow it to happen. Tip no. 4. Plant your feet firmly on the ground. You might have copied this from baseball. That is, letting your foot heel in front to come above the ground when you swing your golf club back. Some people think that by doing this so, their back swing feels more huge.
It is something of note that lifting the front heel can easily make the body coil and for tension that much harder to build. Letting the foot roll freely to the inside is fine. However, one should keep that foot on the ground to make golf back swing well-anchored. Tip no. 5. From the bottom golf down swing.
Assuming that you accomplish all the drills correctly -from the golf stance, the golf grip you have, and your golf back swing. But you can still ruin everything if you begin the golf swing that you have with the shoulders. You might want to use a swing trigger to begin the golf down swing that you have with the lower part of your body. Tip no. 6. And again, on your golf down swing. You should turn the belt buckle to your target.
Try turning your hips as powerful and fast as possible in your golf down swing, it works.
There is a way to lower your golf score, and the most efficient and quick way to do so is by putting. Although there are those golfers who put the blame on the putter thus the reason for their bad putt, it also helps if the grip of the putter is on a surface that is flat.
